No escape dog harness avlable. I can only get a harness for him to use if we take him to a park with other dogs. When my boyfriend gets home we will take him to the park. But as it stands now, no. If we find one it is more than likely we will have to wt til we get to the park to get him to use it. I'm still wting for my boyfriend to get home. It's been 4.5 hours already. He should be home by now.

He has never been in a harness so we will be starting off with that. He does not bite or do anything out of control so I would not think that it would be an issue. He is not as stubborn as I am so I would not be surprised if he got into it. I'm just worried that he will not listen and will keep barking.

We are looking for a harness that is not too expensive as we are on a budget. I know it's probably a silly question, but are they different sizes for larger and smaller dogs?

I was a little wary at first since we had never taken him out in public before, but so far it is going well. His first day out I got up at 6am to get him ready and take him to the park for the day. He did very well, but was a little tired when we came home. He did not bark once. It was just him laying in the grass and me laying down beside him. We have been taking him twice a day (in the morning and evening) and it has been great.

I did not know if any of you have experience with taking him out in public, but I would like to know more about what you do if you do it. Do you take him out every day? How long are you able to go out every day? How do you trn him to go? Is it okay to take him out in public without the leash? What do you do if he starts to get too excited and start barking? Do you take him somewhere quieter, but still in public?

Any information would be great! I know it's a lot of questions, but I would like to make sure I know what to expect.

My dog's first time out was this morning. The first couple times we went I didn't take him out because I wasn't sure what I was doing. I read all the things you can and should do before and after a dog goes out, and I was nervous. We got to the park and there was a lot of barking going on. The owner was with us. We put him on the leash and he was good. We walked all around the park and he barked a little at the squirrels but I think he was a little excited. We walked all around the park and he started to get a little tired. We took a little break at a little playground that was closed and then we went back into the park. I tried to take him in a small loop so he wasn't going around the whole park and it was a little hard. At first he was ok, but once he got out of the loop he started barking. The owner took him to the restroom so I could take a break. I left him for awhile and he started to bark, but he was not getting too worked up. We walked all around the park a couple more times and it was a little stressful. He was tired and he wanted to go home and he started to bark. He didn't bark while we were in the park, but I think the park made him a little excited. We were about to leave the park when he started to bark. I put him on a leash and we walked back to the car. He barked for a little while when we got to the car but we were inside so it wasn't that big of a deal. The dog owner took him inside and he stayed in the back with her. After a while the barking started to quiet down. We took him home and he stayed in the back. I didn't even have to take him outside because he was so tired.

I read the book "The Bored Collie's Guide to Fun and Freedom." I also watched a video about it on YouTube. It is a great book.

Here's the website that has the best info out there if you're thinking about getting a harness for a dog:

http://www.dog-harnesses.com/

We bought our dog a harness off of that site. The only other time we bought him one, it was so small he couldn't get it on. But the harness he got off of that website is HUGE and has a harness on the other end as well, which he can slip on by himself. It's nice because it has a loop around his neck and he can get it on by himself. He did not want to use it right away, but he started to get used to it after awhile. The only thing is you have to be careful when he is in public places that there aren't too many people so he can keep up. We also had to take him into pet stores with us to use the bathroom and we took him to places where there were other dogs and places where there was a lot of noise.

One of the owners I know on here sd she took her dog to a dog park every day. She is the reason I wanted to take him out in public in the first place. He gets a great workout and she gets a little peace and quiet. I want to do this for my dog because I know how much it will benefit him. I want to know what to expect.

My dog is only 3 months old and he hasn't been taken out yet, but I'm sure he will get there. My dog is the most stubborn dog I've ever had and I'm sure he will be just as stubborn as my previous dogs. I was the one who put my dog in the car with me every time he has gone for a ride with my boyfriend. I just got a harness so he doesn't have to. I take him out as often as I can, but the weather is pretty bad so that's why I haven't been out very much. I don
